NEW SOLO LIED ALBUM: “SONGS OF THE NIGHT“
DAS OPERNGLAS, September 2020: “There are recitals that capture the audience from the first song and never let go. “Songs of the Night” by Christian Miedl definitely belongs to this group, because the twenty art songs on this CD portrait have an absolutely magical effect on the listener.”
A high-quality print version of this 20-page booklet can also be ordered by e-mail for a fee of 2 Euros plus shipping costs.
Christian Miedl’s new Solo Album includes an exciting composition of songs from the romantic, modern and contemporary, avant-garde periods, in a dialogue between styles and stories, including songs by Strauss, Rihm, Liszt Sirodeau, Pfitzner, Sciarrino, Ullmann, Jellinek, Loewe.
From his very beginnings, the intimate form of Lied has been a part of Christian Miedl’s life as a musician. It was the main focus of his studies at Salzburg Mozarteum and also of his competition programs. Later, during his years at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, he also introduced a new Lied series with several concerts per season. Numerous recital programs show his in-depth knowledge of the repertoire.
